Woodchucking 201” 

A hybrid approach to woodturning focusing more on the traditional (without 4-jaw chuck) methods of fixing a workpiece to the lathe.



  • The skill-level for this class is intermediate level.
  • Pre-requisite qualifications:

You need to have completed the Sharpening Lathe Tools, Basics of Spindle Turning, and Basics of Bowl Turning classes before registering for this class. There is a lot of detailed technique to be learned and the pace of this class will be faster than a beginning level class.

  • You will be making and using your own MT2 drive devices, cup chucks, and jamb- chucks throughout the day. 
  • The production of spheres and eggs is the goal.
