Northwest Woodturners is an organization set up to promote the learning and enjoyment of woodturning. The basic focus is on lathe work, but the skills and information presented are useful in many areas. As the public is beginning to discover, woodturning encompasses many different branches of arts and crafts. The inclusion of stone, metal, acrylic, and weavings into turned pieces is generating a new artistic appreciation of the medium. The chapter has members of all skill levels and our directions of interest are just as varied. We welcome you to join us whether for the development of new skills or just the fun of working with wood.

Northwest Woodturners proudly hosts demonstrations by national and international professional turners such as Richard Raffan, Jean Francois Escoulen, Christian Burchard, Soren Berger, Bonnie Klein, and Binh Pho, in addition to our resident talent. To complement the monthly demonstrations, the chapter also conducts a member challenge, show-and-tell, and wood raffle. Members may also borrow from the chapter's library of turning related books, magazines and videos.
